Straw Hat pizza Hayward located at 1653 industrial parkway, a resturaunt that caught my eye while I was on my way home.
I was curious, since I did see the place "packed to the gills", so why-not ? I wanted to see what all the
Hype was about.
Entering the restruant instantly gave me the nostaglic feeling of that kid, that used to go with her parents,
Tugging at my fathers side, asking if he had any quaters he could spare, so that I could try my luck at the skill
crane game. ( Good times, good times.. )
Even more so, in addition to the sights, there were all the familiar aroma's coming from the kitchen.
My mouth was watering, I just HAD to have one of those pizzas.
My selection was a "Master Pizza" , a Spicy Hawaiin, which just under 30 dollars, seemed a bit to pricy for me, still- I thought at that moment, that it would be worth it.( Boy- was I ever-wrong.)
My order was expideted quickly, so far- so good, I was very impressed with the speedy service.
Then I decided that I just Had to have a slice of that "Master Pizza", just before I went home.
Normally, to me a pizza with a good amount of cheese, or with a "QUALITY" cheese blend would render
a pizza who's slices of cheese would just Strech out, instead - what I got was a limp instant snap-back of the cheese, something was missing, and I soon found out that wasn't the only thing that was missing.
Upon a careful inspection of my "Master Pizza" I noticed that I had Several Large slices of Ham, with a skimpy amount of pineapple scattered across, Then I decided to compare what I had recieved , to what was
Listed on thier menu.
I was supposed to recieve a pizza with at least 6 toppings, and what i got was maybe 3 if that.
A further inspection also revealed that My pizza was supposed to have a red sauce, what I got was
More Like ranch dressing LOADED with garlic.
Alright, maybe this was a mistake, so I brought this to the attention of the gentleman at the counter,
( I can't remember his name.. LOL)
He assured me, that this was a geniune "Master Pizza", that they make these all day.
But, I pointed out to this gentleman, that I had only recieved a 2 topping pizza, though I never got
Re-imbursement for it, Nor- did he make me another one that I actually wanted.
So- I took home My "ham and pineapple" pizza, now disgusted by later events, I just tossed it in the garbage.
A few days later, I decided to stop- by Straw hat once more, maybe what had happened to me, was just a "fluke".
A medium Spicy Hawaiin, to-go please-
Again, in no time flat I got my pizza, and again Just- "ham and pineapple" with ranch dressing for sauce
loaded with "Garlic".
Once again, I brought this to the attention of the gentleman at the counter, and again I got the same story-
"This is our Master pizza..", " Blah - blah- blah".
That was the last straw- Now I felt that I was being taken for, like some sort of pasty, IF i wanted to order a 2-topping pizza, then I would have specified, just "HAM AND PINEAPPLE".
This experience has left me quite disgusted, and has shattered all my memories of a resturaunt that I used to frequent with my parents.
I don't feel like this restraunt is a place to go where you can get real value for your money, added it's not
a Place that I will return soon, for an extended period of time.
